What is Our Daily Bread?

Our Daily Bread (ODB) is a volunteer-based organization focused on easing the plight of low income residents in the area of Fairfax, Virginia. It draws volunteers from local faith-based groups, community organizations, local businesses, schools and universities.

Our Mission

Our Daily Bread identifies and addresses the unmet fundamental needs of Fairfax area residents and empowers the community to help our neighbors maintain self-sufficiency

Back to School 2010: Thank You for Helping Our Kids Many thanks to everyone who sponsored a child or contributed to the Back to School program. Your generosity helped 337 children. And a record-breaking 184 donors sponsored children this year -- 110 more than in 2009. Thanks to Fair City Mall for collecting $500 worth of school supplies for ODB kids!

 

SRA Donation to Fund Fairfax Pantry Many thanks to global consulting firm SRA International for donating $2,000 and food pantry items to ODB from an August 25 charity softball game. The funds will provide rent for our Fairfax Food Pantry for the next year.

Fairfax Chamber Event to Highlight ODB Programs 9/23 Please join ODB and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce at our "Fall Into Giving" event on September 23 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to showcase the many ways Fairfax County area businesses can partner with Our Daily Bread to help working families in our community. County Board Chairman Sharon Bulova will give opening remarks. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Youth Financial Fair Oct. 17 ODB will co-host the "Pathways 2 Independence" Financial Fair from 1-5 p.m. at South Lakes High School in Reston on October 17 to help Teens and Young Adults take control of their finances. CLICK HERE to view and share the flyer.
