What is Our Daily Bread?

Our Daily Bread (ODB) is a volunteer-based organization focused on easing the plight of low income residents in the area of Fairfax, Virginia. It draws volunteers from local faith-based groups, community organizations, local businesses, schools and universities.

Our Daily Bread identifies and addresses the unmet fundamental needs of Fairfax area residents and empowers the community to help our neighbors maintain self-sufficiency

Hunger Does Not Take a Vacation!

ODB is in URGENT need of groups to collect food donations and make food deliveries to our clients on several Sundays in August and September. See our Volunteer page for more information. We are also experiencing a decline in food donations to our pantries. If your group is able to hold a food drive, see our Food Pantry page for details on how to host a successful food drive and what supplies we need most.

ODB Launches Back to School Program

July 7-11: Buy Great Harvest Bread and Benefit ODB Food Clients! To celebrate its upcoming 5th anniversary, Great Harvest Bread Co. in Burke is holding a special event to benefit ODB Food Clients. For every loaf of Honey Wheat Bread Great Harvest Burke sells that week, they will bake us a loaf to be delivered fresh to an ODB food client. Help Spread the Word! Print our Flyer!!!

July 11 Sweets in the Park to Benefit ODB -- Come Join Us! ODB is honored to have been chosen as the beneficiary of "Sweets in the Park" on Saturday, July 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Ratcliffe Park in Fairfax City. The event is hosted by Fairfax City Council Member Daniel Drummond. Admission is free. There will be a charge for sweets and face painting. If you would like to attend and/or donate sweets, respond to the EVITE.
